Gunmen abducted Reverend Father Christian Ike, a Catholic priest based in Anambra State. The incident occurred on Sunday near Amagu junction, Ndiokpaleke in Ajali community, Orumba North Local Government Area of the state.
Eyewitnesses reported that Father Ike, along with two others, was returning from an early morning Mass at St. Michael Catholic Church when their vehicle was intercepted by the assailants.Upon reaching Amagu Junction, armed men in three vehicles intercepted their vehicle. While the other two individuals managed to escape, the criminals abducted the priest and also took personal belongings from the vehicle occupants.
This recent abduction marks the second incident in two months following the kidnapping of Reverend Father Basil Gbuzuo near Onitsha on May 15 by unidentified gunmen.
