The Kano State Deputy Governor, Aminu Gwarzo, has accused former governor Abdullahi Ganduje of using the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) to create chaos by smuggling the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, into the state.

Gwarzo made this allegation on Saturday morning while speaking with journalists at the Emir’s palace in Kano.

He claimed that Ganduje, with the support of the NSA’s office, brought the dethroned Emir into the state on a chartered flight.

“It is unfortunate that the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, is using the National Security Adviser to create tension in the state by smuggling in the former emir, Aminu Ado Bayero.

“The appointment and dethronement of an Emir or any traditional titleholder is solely the prerogative of the state government,” the deputy governor stated. He questioned why the Federal Government would interfere in such matters.

“I am here with the governor and other top government officials to ensure that the new emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II, begins exercising his power and authority immediately after receiving his appointment letter yesterday (Friday),” he added.

The deputy governor urged Kano residents to go about their lawful and normal activities without fear or intimidation.

In the early hours of Saturday, Bayero returned to Kano, greeted by a crowd of supporters.
