Barcelona revealed on Friday that coach Xavi Hernandez will be departing, following the team’s trophy-less season, despite his recent agreement with club president Joan Laporta to stay in the role. Xavi’s last match in charge will be Barcelona’s La Liga fixture against Sevilla on Sunday.

“Barcelona president Joan Laporta has informed Xavi Hernandez that he won’t be continuing as coach for the 2024-25 season,” Barcelona stated.

There’s strong speculation that former Bayern Munich and Germany coach Hansi Flick will step in as Xavi’s replacement.
