AFN Extends Invitations for National Trials on June 16–18, 2024
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has officially invited States Athletics Associations, military/paramilitary organizations, institutions, and athletic clubs to participate in the Nigeria National Trials scheduled to take place from June 16 to 18, 2024, at Sam Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
As per the release issued on Thursday and signed by AFN Secretary-General Rita Mosinidi, the trials aim to select athletes to represent Nigeria at various upcoming events, including the African Senior Athletics Championships in Douala, Cameroon (June 21–26, 2024), the Olympic Games in Paris, France (July 26–August 11), and the World U-20 Championship in Lima, Peru (August 27–31, 2024).
All athletes are strongly encouraged to participate in the trials to be considered for selection for these prestigious competitions, irrespective of their qualification status.
Furthermore, it is mandatory for all athletes who have already secured tickets to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris to partake in the trials, as per this directive.
