The former deputy national chairman of the PDP, Senator Gamawa Babayo, has explained the reason why he quit the party

The ex-deputy chair of the main opposition party said he decided to leave and join the APC because he was suspended without a fair hearing

Babayo also said that his conscience has been telling him that PDP is not the best for him, adding that he believes in President Buhari

The former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Gamawa Babayo, has said that he left the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) because the opposition party suspended him without granting him a fair hearing.

On Monday, January 7, the immediate suspension Senator Babayo was announced,he was suspended over alleged involvement in anti-party activities, according to the PDP.

Babayo, however, accused the main opposition party of not giving him opportunity to defend himself. He said: “Just an allegation without a fair hearing, they said they have suspended me from office. I want to call on them to check the secretariat.

In politics, they should know what is happening on daily basis at the secretariat.” He said the leadership of the PDP would regret the action taken against him as he was not bothered at all.

I know my rights and I know what the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides on a fair hearing. They did wrong. Though I have no regret, they will regret their action. My conscience has been telling me that place is not the best for me. I believe in President Muhammadu Buhari. I believe in what he has been doing for this country right from his military era,” he said.
