Nigeria police force Sokoto State command on Monday recorded another huge success as two suspected arm robbers lost their lives in a gun duel with the police.

Briefing journalists on behalf of the commissioner of police Murtala Usman Mani on Monday the public relation officer of the command deputy supretendent of police (DSP) Cordelia Nwawe said the kidnappers and cattle rustlers have been terrorizing the border town of Illela, Rabah, Goronyo and Sabon Birni local government area of the state.

She added that one of the robber deceased Aliyu Abdullahi was intercepted by the police Men on patrol at Gawon Fulani village of Rabah Local Government while running away on Kasea motorcycle backing AK 49 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunitions and extra magazine engaged the men of Nigeria police on gun battle while attempting to escape to evade arrest was shot by the police , he later died while on admission in the hospital.

The second deceased Alhaji Adduwa who is also the ward head of Gidan Bunu village , Rabah Local government, the late Aliyu confessed to police that he is their armourer on noticing police operatives heading to his house ,engaged the police on a shoot out and was fired at to stop his escape.

Also paraded a suspect Lawali Aliyu from More Kware Local Government , he was arrested with AK 47 live ammunition while trying to smuggle it for onward distribution to Sokoto, Zamfara and Kebbi State.

He confessed that he has been in the business for a long time and used to get his stocks from one Ibrahim Galmi of Galmi village in Niger Republic.

The suspect also confessed to have participated in several kidnappings and arm robbery operations in those States .

Among the suspect a woman called Rahmatu Muhammad Dogo of Sabin Gari village of Raba Local Government who use to keep the gun for the group.

Other member of the group are Abdullahi Isah, Musa Namalan , Muhammad Lawali, Muhammad Sank, Ibrahim Shuaibu, Alhaji Haruna Tursa, Ibrahim Garbage, Bello Danbaba Umar Maude and Muhammad Rabiu.

The PPRO warned miscreants and criminals to stay away from the state as police will not hesitate to flush them out .

She debunked an allegation by Publicity secretary of People Democratic Party Alhaji Ibrahim Hausawa of partisan ,saying police in the state acted according to electoral act 2010 as amended .

She warned the political parties against political thuggery, that police will arrest and charge to court any body found breaching the law no matter how highly place he was in the society or his political affiliation.
