Nigerian born British singer, Ben Ofoedu, known for being the former lead singer of the duo Phats & Small, has said he has never seen his wife of 12 years without makeup.

According to him: “I wouldn’t know who she was without makeup,” he said, as the two of them appears on a British panel show, Loose Women.

Vanessa his Fifty-six-year-old wife states that even if one wakes up with eyeliner messily smeared under the eyes in the morning, it is still better than a makeup-free face.

She says: “When I was a teenager, my sister and I discussed this and I think smudged eyeliner the day after is better than no makeup whatsoever.”

Ben confesses that Vanessa wore bright red lipstick while on a swimming date.

“I wouldn’t know who she was [without makeup];” before adding: “I didn’t notice until like two years in [that she always wore makeup], and then I was in a swimming pool and she was wearing bright red lipstick. I thought it was a bit weird.”

Ofoedu and fiance Vanessa Feltz have taken part in a number of television programmes as a couple. In April 2007, they participated in an episode of Channel 4’s Celebrity Wife Swap, in which she moved in with magician Paul Daniels for one week, while his wife Debbie McGee moved in with Ofoedu.

On 22 September 2007, Feltz and Ofoedu won £150,000 for a cancer charity on the celebrity version of ITV’s Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.
