The Appeal Court in Abuja recently removed the former Minority Leader, Simon Mwadkwon.

In response to this vacancy, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro, the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, has been appointed as the new Minority Leader of the Nigerian Senate. The announcement was made during Tuesday’s plenary by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

The decision to have two-term Senator Abba Moro lead the minority caucus in the red chamber was reached after a meeting of the minority caucus. This appointment aims to fill the void left by the ousted former Minority Leader, Senator Simon Mwadkwon, as mandated by the Appeal Court.
