The Superbike Clubs Association of Nigeria (SCAN), the country’s leading biker body, has welcomed a fresh executive team following its recent elections in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.
Mr. Mustapha Ibrahim, the Chairman of SCAN’s Board of Trustees, disclosed in a statement released in Abuja on Friday that an 11-member executive committee was voted in during the association’s annual general meeting.
Hussaini Misari, known as Ghost, emerged as the newly elected president, with David Julius, Thunderbolt, assuming the role of vice president. Abdullahi Daku, recognized as Doer, secured the position of secretary-general.
The rest of the executive committee comprises Nengar Terfa as assistant secretary-general, Geofrey Ojeabulu, known as Suspense, as treasurer, Raymond Yakshut (Rayhonest) as financial secretary, and Salisu Abubakar (Tangland) as welfare officer.
Additionally, Umar Abubakar (Manager) was elected as internal auditor, Olu Abel as provost, Muktar Makarfi (Arewa) will handle media and publicity, and Dakwai Lengs will serve as the national road captain.
The statement confirmed that the new executive committee would be officially inaugurated in Kano on December 2, 2023.
In a separate humanitarian effort, SCAN members visited an Internally Displaced People’s (IDP) camp in Mangu local government area, Plateau State, donating food items worth approximately N1.5 million to the residents. The relief materials included foodstuffs, noodles, malt drinks, blankets, bottled water, and clothing.
Grateful for the donation, Mr. Markus Enoch Gumwesh, the camp coordinator, expressed appreciation on behalf of the IDPs, assuring equitable distribution of the donated materials.
