Lagos State Government Approves N44.8 Million for Vegetable Clearance, N73.1 Million for Tinubu’s Portrait, and N581 Million for Church Renovation

The Lagos State Government has faced criticism for its recent approvals, including N44.8 million for vegetable clearance within the Epe Mixed Development Scheme. The Public Procurement Agency’s records indicate that the project was awarded to M/S Obak Nigeria Enterprises in May.

Additionally, N73.1 million was approved for the production of official portraits of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The project, executed by the Chief of Staff’s office, was awarded to Flolizvi Connect.

Other notable approvals include N80.8 million for the procurement of ten units of foreign-used vehicles, N18.5 million for the supply and distribution of 2,000 Noiler chickens, and N400 million for flying hour expenses on an ad-hoc charter plane. The government also approved N152 million for water supply restoration at Iduganran palace and N581 million for the renovation of Saint Andrews Anglican Church in Oke-Popo. These expenditures have raised concerns about their appropriateness amid public criticism.
