A Hamas official stated on Tuesday that an impending ceasefire agreement with Israel would be announced in the coming hours in Qatar. The anonymous official revealed to Xinhua that they are nearing an agreement, and Hamas has conveyed its response to the mediators. The success of the agreement is contingent on the commitment of the Israeli side.
According to another Hamas source, the ceasefire deal, set to last for five days, involves the release of 50 civilians and foreign nationals held by Hamas. In exchange, Israel would release 300 Palestinian detainees, including children and women. Additionally, the agreement includes the entry of 300 trucks carrying food, medical supplies, and fuel aid into the Gaza Strip.
The sources specified that the release of prisoners will occur gradually, with 10 Israeli prisoners released daily, compared to 30 Palestinian prisoners. (Xinhua/NAN).
