The Ogun State Police Command has initiated a search for two individuals accused of sexually assaulting two minors, aged 12 and 7, in separate incidents within the Isabo area of Abeokuta and Abule-Osho in the Olambe area of Ifo Local Government Area.

Reports suggest that a 12-year-old student from Reverend Kuti Memorial Grammar School, Abeokuta, was reportedly assaulted by an unidentified man last Thursday. Allegedly, the victim and her sister were wandering the streets after being sent away from home for an undisclosed reason by their parents. The suspect supposedly offered them shelter at his residence, where the assault occurred the night before they were sent away in the morning.

Upon learning of the incident, the school’s principal accompanied the victim to the Ibara Police Division to report the crime.

Similarly, in Abule-Osho, Olambe area, a seven-year-old girl was suspected to have been assaulted by an unidentified man while she was out buying a snack. The perpetrator allegedly dragged her into a nearby bush, resulting in severe bleeding. The girl was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

The Command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed both incidents in a statement on Sunday, November 19, emphasizing that measures were underway to apprehend the suspects. Odutola assured that the police had visited the crime scenes, initiated intelligence gathering, and were actively pursuing the suspects for prosecution.
