Kevhani Camilla Hicks, known as Key Vhani in the music world, has been charged with murder following a security footage that allegedly shows her shooting her manager multiple times in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood on Oct. 9.

The video, obtained by NBC Miami, depicts Hicks and her manager initially arguing and engaging in a physical altercation before another man joins in against Hicks. Eventually, they pin her to the ground.

After being left by the men, Hicks walks away, retrieves a handgun from her bag, and begins firing at her manager, who tries to seek cover but gets wounded in the street. As the manager lies injured, the second man involved drives away, apparently hitting Hicks with the car before fleeing. After being left by the men, Hicks walks away, retrieves a handgun from her bag, and begins firing at her manager, who tries to seek cover but gets wounded in the street. Police found the manager with gunshot wounds; despite being taken to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. Hicks, hospitalized for injuries from the altercation, claimed self-defense, citing fear for her life due to the victim’s size and alleged threats.

A GoFundMe page set up by a family member asserts that the men in the video had assaulted Hicks on multiple occasions. Despite being in custody, Hicks received a $50,000 bond and house arrest following a court hearing, with her attorney labeling the incident as a clear case of self-defense.
