President Muhammadu Buhari has opened up on the famed Cabal that was believed to have operated in his presidency and also on the ill health that plagued him during the first term of his stewardship.

The former president in an interview with NTA also spoke on what he missed from office.

In a chatty interview with the NTA programme ‘A Conversation With History’, to be aired on Monday, November 20, 2023 President Buhari was also asked on what he thought of developments outside the country while he was president.

While he was president that there were insinuations of a power cabal built around a few individuals who made many of the appointments and directed government policies.

Asked by the interviewer if the cabal was really a myth or a thing of the imagination President Buhari said it well would have been.

On the issue of his ill-health, the interviewer reminded President Buhari that he claimed on his return to the country that he said that he had never been that sick.

Asked what was really wrong with him, the president directed the interviewer to go and ask his doctor.

It is the first one-on-one interview President Buhari has granted since he stepped down from office on May 29, 2023.
