Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed that he doesn’t feel a sense of longing for his time as president. In an interview with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Buhari shared this sentiment, marking his first interview since concluding his presidency on May 29, 2023.
When questioned about what aspects of his presidency he misses, Buhari responded, “Miss. I don’t think I miss much.” The teaser for the interview was released by NTA on its X handle, with the full version scheduled to be broadcast on Monday at 10:30 pm.
Buhari had previously stated that he wouldn’t miss his time in office due to feeling “harassed.” In December 2022, he acknowledged that despite his efforts for the Nigerian people, he believed his best was not sufficient. Reflecting on the numerous medical vacations he took during his presidency, particularly in the United Kingdom, Buhari mentioned that only his doctor could truthfully address questions about the nature of his illness at the time.
