Tragic Loss: 100-Level Benue State University Student Passes Away After Falling from Lecture Theatre Stairs

In a heart-wrenching incident, a 100-level student majoring in Economics at Benue State University, Ahangba Ugaa Solomon, lost his life after an unfortunate fall from a staircase within the university’s lecture theatre.

This devastating incident occurred on the morning of September 18, 2023, within the western wing of the Twin Lecture Theater (TLT A) on campus. Following the fall, urgent efforts were made to save Solomon’s life. He was initially rushed to the university clinic and subsequently transferred to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, where, tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.

Comr. Austine Austine, the President of the National Economics Students Association (NESA) at Benue State University, issued a statement confirming the incident on the same evening. In the statement, signed by NESA General Secretary, Comr. Agwaza Gabriel Kundushima, the association extended its condolences to the grieving family of the deceased and the entire university community.

The statement conveyed the sorrowful news of the passing of Master Ugaa Solomon, who, until his untimely demise, was a 100-level student within the Economics department. Accounts from fellow students and witnesses revealed that the tragic fall occurred around 9 a.m. from the stairs of the Twin Lecture Theater (TLT A) in the western wing of the university.

Comr. Austine Austine expressed profound shock over the tragic incident but remained steadfast in extending condolences to the bereaved family, the NESA community, and the larger Benue State University community. He offered prayers for consolation and solace during this trying time.

In the wake of this tragic loss, the National Union of Benue State Students, led by Comrade Igba Seth Andrew, also expressed their sympathies to the Economics Department, recognizing that the untimely death of Mr. Ugaa Solomon is a significant loss not only to his immediate department and family but also to the entire Benue State University community.
