The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has unveiled the approach that the Nigeria Police Force will take to unravel the circumstances surrounding the passing of the late Nigerian artiste, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
As reported by PUNCH Online, the 27-year-old singer, a former signee of Naira Marley at Marlian Records, passed away last Tuesday.
In an early Tuesday morning tweet via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, @Princemoye1, the Force PRO stated, “Mohbad: Let’s open our minds and widen the scope of investigation to unravel the case.
“Many would, by now, agree with me or concur with my assertion that we need a thorough investigation to expose some hidden facts.
“We will examine many areas and interrogate as many people as possible to get to the root of the matter and ensure justice is served.”
He emphasized that investigations should be adaptable and comprehensive, rather than relying on a “standardized methodology.”
“In investigations, you shouldn’t have a fixed mindset or follow a one-size-fits-all approach; instead, remain adaptable, open-minded, and employ various methods to achieve a favorable outcome.
“The investigation is still ongoing. Let’s await its progress,” he assured.
Earlier, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, announced on Monday, September 18, that the command had established a specialized investigative team tasked with probing Mohbad’s death.
Hundeyin explained that this 13-member investigative team would carry out a discreet investigation, including exhumation, autopsy/toxicology/histology, scene visits, hospital/medical reports, and records of suspects/witnesses’ statements. The team is expected to provide an interim report within two weeks.
