The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Enugu Zonal Command, has successfully apprehended 29 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud, commonly known as “Yahoo boys.” The operation, conducted in Enugu State, took place on Friday, September 15, and resulted in the arrests.
The arrested individuals have been identified as follows: Ali Chukwuebuka, Ugwueke Chidera, Chukwuneke Nicholas, Daniel Okwume, Ebubechukwu Egbo Victor, Ugwu Felix Chenedu, Chizu Ifejika, Chris Emmanuel, Chukwuka Onye, Arinze Ede, Charles Aforka, and Ejeh Monday Nelson.
Additional suspects include Joshua Onah, Martin Excel Ozichukwu, Ejeh Moses, Ogbonna Okpata, Francis Peter Ifechukwu, Chibuzor Ikweze Anthony, Kingsley Onyedikachi, Okechukwu Ezeka, Johnson Onuorah, Osinachi Johnson, Enejeh Paul, John Samuel, Ohia Excel, Nicholas Okereke, Omeh Kamsichukwu Joseph, Chigozie Egwuatu Chiderem, and Emmanuel Johnson.
The EFCC reported the recovery of two Lexus IS 350 cars, 45 mobile phones, seven laptop computers, one Wi-Fi device, and one hard drive from the suspects.
The statement concludes by stating that the suspects have provided valuable statements and will soon face charges in court.
