A staggering number of sixteen million children, aged between 6 and 15 years, are currently denied access to education across Nigeria. This educational crisis is distributed across different regions of the country as follows:
- North West: 8.33 million
- North East: 3.72 million
- North Central: 1.81 million
- South West: 1.19 million
- South South: 700,000
- South East: 390,000
This educational disparity is particularly pronounced between the North and South regions of Nigeria:
- Northern Regions: 13.9 million
- Southern Regions: 2.28 million
As a nation, Nigeria is grappling with the pressing challenge of ensuring that these 16.2 million children have access to quality education.
