Dele Agboola, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, was assassinated by unknown gunmen in the Ada area.
The tragic incident occurred on the night of September 14, 2023, when three men, disguised as customers interested in buying medicine at his wife’s store in the Pako Area of Ada, killed Agboola.
The attackers arrived while the 42-year-old man, widely known as Agbo, had briefly left the store and entered his residence. A few minutes later, he returned to the store to retrieve his mobile phone charger.
Upon confirming his identity, the assailants shot him. The three men quickly fled the scene, causing people to scatter in various directions to avoid further attacks. Relatives of the deceased prevented security personnel from taking his body for an autopsy.
The spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Osun State, Kehinde Adeleke, confirmed the incident and stated that efforts were underway to apprehend the culprits.
