In an unsettling incident, suspected gunmen believed to be bandits have abducted an Assistant Superintendent of Police named Nasiru Muhammed in Toro town, located within the Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
This incident unfolded on the night of Friday, September 15, 2023, when the gunmen brazenly invaded the town, discharging rounds of gunfire into the air. The ensuing chaos prompted residents to flee in search of safety.
Reportedly, the armed assailants arrived in the town in considerable numbers around 9 p.m. and began firing shots indiscriminately, sending the town’s residents into a state of panic.
Eventually, they managed to seize the Assistant Superintendent of Police and whisked him away to an undisclosed location.
Ismail Dabo, the representative for Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Ecological Funds and Great Green Wall, has expressed his condemnation of the incident. He also called for calm while deeming the event unfortunate and regrettable, particularly in light of the current economic circumstances.
