President Bola Tinubu has emphatically stated that Nigerians are a diligent and hardworking people who should not endure poverty. He made these remarks during a gathering in Abuja on September 14, where he welcomed a prominent 62-member delegation comprising leaders from both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

According to a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelali, President Tinubu articulated his convictions, asserting, “We are not lazy people. We are richly endowed. We just need to be our brother’s keeper and good neighbors to one another. I am not a President that will give excuses. I will work hard for our nation with purpose, determination, and dedication to create wealth for all Nigerians. We have no reason to be poor! We will not look back; we will run aggressively forward.”

Furthermore, he displayed an unwavering commitment to his vision for the nation, declaring that despite the challenges, he is resolute in his pursuit of Nigeria’s prosperity. “Today, we may be swimming against the tide. But the waves will soon propel us forward from behind. We will achieve the goals and dreams of our forefathers. I am inspired by the nation of people I now lead,” President Tinubu affirmed.

He also conveyed a sense of duty to the Nigerian people and a promise to uphold the government’s commitments. “I am the Captain and Chief Salesman of the country. We have to reverse the trend and achieve possibilities within a short period of time,” he stated. “Our people have high expectations for us. I pledge to work hard, and I pray to God to put me on the right path, not to disappoint Nigerians.”

President Tinubu’s remarks underscore his optimism and commitment to the welfare and prosperity of Nigerians, emphasizing that with collective effort and purposeful leadership, the nation can rise above its challenges and achieve the aspirations of its citizens.
