TV’s Dr James Greenwood – star of BBC’s much-loved early-rise show Morning Live – has welcomed a baby boy with his husband Mark Titterton.
The on-screen vet, 37, shared the joyful news on Instagram on Friday, posting a snap of the loved-up couple alongside their newborn son and their “incredible” surrogate, Rachael Davis.
Captioning the family photo, James wrote: “Here we go!!! We are all so thrilled and our hearts are bursting with joy. Introducing Oliver James Titterton-Greenwood, born 9.54 pm last night, 7.8 pounds.”
He continued: “Baby and Dads all doing great, more importantly so is our incredible surrogate Rachael – the most incredible human being on this planet who has blown us all away with her phenomenal generosity and incredible strength.
“Our hearts are overflowing with joy. J&M Xxx.”
James’s Morning Live co-stars were quick to share more heart-warming pictures of the new father as they announced the news on air today.
The team also revealed the sweet news that the newborn had been named after the one-eyed golden Labrador, Oli, who appeared on the show for two years before his death last year.
Lead presenter Gethin Jones told viewers: “You’ll remember Oliver, who we lost six months ago now – and I just love it. Oliver was just so amazing, so gracious, so calm when we first started Morning Live.
“He was so lovely and now we’ve got another little Oliver in the family!”
His Girls Aloud co-host Kimberley Walsh agreed: “His energy was incredible as I’m sure the little boy will be!
“And Rachael the surrogate is doing well, they’re all doing well. I’m so so happy for you James.”
In March, James uploaded a selfie straight from the French Alps featuring himself and landscape gardener hubby Mark proudly clutching a reel of sonograms, revealing they were expecting their first child together.
In an emotional caption, James announced: “Some news! Having not been abroad together for nearly 4 years, it felt so perfect to be back in the sunny and snow capped French Alps this past week, to the place where we met almost 15 years ago.
“Made even more poignant – this time – as the last holiday we’ll have just us two … as we are completely thrilled to share with you that in a matter of weeks we shall be welcoming the sound of tiny feet into our lives.”
He continued: “Our wonderful and INCREDIBLE surrogate and her most beautiful family, who we love so very much, have become such a massive part of our lives and words cannot begin to express how lucky we feel right now [red heart emoji].
“Shall keep you posted, and so here begins a whole new chapter … J&M x #dads #dadsofinstagram #surrogacy #husbands #love #lovewins #baby.”
