Going on holiday is one way to relax for days or even weeks at a time but for those in need of a quick break, visiting a spa is a great way to wind down. And according to experts, there’s one region in England that does it best.
Spa destinations can be found across the UK, with a host of hotels and speciality retreats offering relaxing getaways often with great booking deals. While pricing and treatments are two of the most important things to consider when planning a trip, the location also matters. Experts at the leading spa experience booking agency Spabreaks.com, have mapped out exactly where to go for the best experience.
The region totalled 57.5 percent of all bookings made in 2022, outranking spa breaks offered in the North of the country, which gained 42.6 percent of bookings.
While it’s renowned for its unique landscape made up of stunning coastlines, quaint villages and green spaces, the southern region is also famed for being the home of the British capital.
And with so many different places to unwind, the region is home to some of the most sought-after spa destinations – including Rena Spa at Leonardo Royal Tower Bridge Hotel.
Taking the number one spot in the ranking of the “most popular” spas in the south, the Rena spa boasts exquisite views of London – with Tower Bridge and the Tower of London on its doorstep.
Branded “an oasis of calm” by Abi Selby, founder of Spabreaks.com, the city spot’s “elegant facilities” include a 25-metre swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna. It also offers an indulgent menu of beauty treatments and holistic therapies.
Second, on the list was the Rena Spa at Leonardo Royal St Paul’s Hotel. Part of the Rena chain, the destination offers thermal experiences including a laconium, tepidarium and steam room and of course the stunning 18-metre heated pool.
Caudalie skincare products are used for treatments, which combine facials, massages and body rituals depending on how guests choose to indulge themselves.
