Prof. Abayomi Salami, Resident Electoral Commissioner of Ekiti State, said the state assembly election in Ekiti was largely peaceful except for the only challenge in the low turn out of voters.

The REC said this on Saturday after election monitoring at the INEC office while speaking with newsmen

Salami said apart from the low turnout of electorate across the state, the election had been very largely successful.

He assured residents that after the close of the polls, the people should expect that the results to be declared would be a true reflection of their wish because the process was transparent and then the collation and the declaration would also be very transparent and open.

He also commended the efforts made by INEC in the assembly elections, adding there was no report on the failure of BIVAS.

“it worked excellently well all through the process of the poll.”
