After casting his vote at polling unit 003, Sarkin Yara A in Daura, Katsina State, President Muhammadu Buhari charged the electorate to be independent minded and vote for candidates of their choice, not minding those who try to influence them.
He addressed the press briefly on Saturday, in both English and Hausa languages, driving home his administration’s stance against vote-buying and money-bag politicking.
President Buhari admonished politicians to desist from such acts.
He said, “If they (politicians) still give you money, collect, but vote for your preferred candidates.”
PMB expressed gratitude to the electorate for trusting the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The president cast his vote at about 9.55am, but didn’t display his ballot paper openly as he did during the February 25 Presidential election.
