In Abuja, just two days before the Presidential and National Assembly elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) welcomed a significant number of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) into its ranks.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, several members of the PDP and LP joined the APC on Wednesday in the Federal Capital Territory.

Dr. Hawa Iyatu-Bagu, the National Coordinator of the National Mass Movement for Better Orientation and a prominent supporter of Tinubu, hailed the recent defections as a positive sign of the APC’s impending victory in the February 25th elections.

Iyatu-Bagu revealed that her organization had been in contact with the defectors for an extended period of time, saying, ”today those that accepted the truth have decided to follow the winning team.

She said, “We have been going around canvassing for votes and most of them here are only the leaders because if all of them will be here, this place cannot contain them.

“So, we now ask their leaders and some of them to come here and make it public about their decision to dump PDP and LP and declare their readiness to vote for Tinubu and Shettima.

In addition, the coordinator expressed that the youths are prepared to ensure a resounding victory for Tinubu, and that the defectors will be treated with fairness and equality.

She emphasized that the APC’s presidential candidate is committed to providing quality leadership and will reciprocate any gestures made towards him.

Furthermore, Ibrahim Umar, the Deputy National Coordinator of NAMMBO, praised the Tinubu support group for successfully bringing the defectors into the APC.

He expressed his confidence in Tinubu’s ability to win the presidential election, stating that the prospects for his victory are excellent. He also mentioned that Nigerians are eager to cast their votes for Tinubu and Shettima.

Titus Musa, a former PDP Youth Leader in Gwarinpa Ward, Abuja Municipal Area Council, who spearheaded the defection, stated that the group had decided to defect to the APC in order to cast their votes for Tinubu.

He said, ”This is due to his record of excellent service in Lagos and his contributions to national development.

”We are convinced with the APC manifesto titled, the Message of Hope. APC is the way to go and Tinubu has something to offer Nigeria.” He added.
