On Saturday, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, the Director of New Media for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC), expressed his support for Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s stance on the Naira swap controversy. Fani-Kayode went as far as calling El-Rufai the ‘hero of the moment’.
Recall that In a statewide broadcast on Thursday night, Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai maintained that the N500 and N1,000 notes would remain valid currency in his state unless the Supreme Court ruled otherwise.
His position on the legal tender status of N500 and N1,000 notes in his state differs from that of President Muhammadu Buhari, who recently directed that only the old N200 notes would be accepted as legal tender despite a Supreme Court order to the contrary.
The governor suggested that the recent redesign of the Naira notes was a ploy to disrupt the general elections and install an interim government led by a retired army general.
The presidency on Friday however denied the allegations saying that there is no plan to install an interim government. As reported by BIZTELLERS
Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, In a series of tweets from his verified handle @realFFK, Fani-Kayode commended El-Rufai for speaking truth to power.
He further criticized those who were allegedly plotting to disrupt the victory of APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu in the upcoming polls next week. Fani-Kayode declared that their efforts had failed.
Fani-Kayode pointed to the position of APC-PCC spokesperson Festus Keyamo as a confirmation of El-Rufai’s claims.
Fani-Kayode said: “The hero of the moment is Nasir El Rufai. He has spoken the truth.
“Festus Keyamo confirmed that truth in a most eloquent and courageous manner on Channels TV’s ‘Politics Today’ last night.
“Next Saturday this matter will finally be concluded, the hopes of the conspirators shall be dashed and our collective enemies shall not only be roundly humiliated and convincingly defeated but also confined to the dustbin of history.
“Bola Ahmed Tinubu SHALL, by the grace of God, be the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” He added.
