Erasmus Onu, Head Coach of Abia Warriors, has blamed his team’s 1-0 loss to Doma United of Gombe on what he described as terrible officiating.

The Group B Match Day 8 fixture, 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League was played at Pantami Stadium.

Onu said the decisions of the centre referee were questionable and deserved to be reviewed by relevant authorities.

He said it was not in his character to complain about officiating, but was forced to express his displeasure with the officiating.

According to him, it is one of the most terrible officiating he has experienced.

He said: “Well, I’ve seen officiating.

“I have been beaten at home, drawn at home, but this referee is terrible.

“The way she takes her decision is questionable, but I am not the one to decide what it is.

“This woman (centre referee) is one of the most terrible referees I have ever seen and the League Management Committee should move to do the right thing.”

Onu said the match was good but the result was the outcome of poor officiating.

On his part, Akinade Onigbinde, the Technical Adviser of Doma United FC, described the victory as a product of hard work by his players.

Onigbinde said his boys didn’t play to his expectation in the first half, but after engaging them in the dressing room, the match changed and the result came.

He said his players missed a lot of goal-scoring chances but the result was comfortable for him as his team secured full points from the match.

Onigbinde said with the result, his target of securing third place finish in the league was on course.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Doma United’s goal came through Musa Usman in the 50th minute of the game.

With the goal, Usman has now scored three goals in the league.

NAN also reports that the match was officiated by Rashida Abdulganiyu.
