Alhaji Abubakar Kwaire, a Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Tambuwal, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 general elections in the state.

According to a statement from Bashar Abubakar, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Senator Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North), Kwaire was welcomed by the APC governorship candidate for the state, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, in Sokoto.

Abubakar stated that the former member of the State House of Assembly and newly joined APC member, Kwaire, is from Tambuwal Local Government. He also quoted Kwaire, saying that his choice to join the APC was driven by Senator Wamakko’s impressive leadership qualities.

“Therefore, I believe with Wamakko as APC leader and Aliyu to govern our state, if elected, more dividends of democracy are expected,“ he said.

Kwaire re-affirmed his commitment to supporting all the APC candidates for the betterment of Sokoto State and Nigeria. The governorship candidate, Aliyu, warmly received the defector and guaranteed equal treatment for him like all other party members.
