Popular Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has stated that he considers himself an entertainer rather than a celebrity.
In an interview, Bovi explained that his primary focus is on providing entertainment for his audience through the content he regularly creates.
He said, “I don’t consider myself a celebrity. I think of myself as an entertainer. I like to focus my energy on what I can give people. So, call me the entertainer. Leave celeb for now.”
Bovi began his career in 2007 with the sitcom “Extended Family”, which he wrote and produced. He quickly established himself as a force in Nigerian comedy, making his stand-up debut in the country’s premier comedy franchise “Night of a Thousand Laughs” and headlining the show by 2011.
He has also performed stand-up specials in cities around the world, including London, Melbourne, and Toronto. In addition to comedy, Bovi has also acted in films such as “It’s Her Day” and “4-1-Love”, and has been nominated for several awards, including the “Best Actor in Comedy” at the AMVCA awards.
