The Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has reversed its decision to not respond to the resignation of one of its directors, Hajia Naja’atu Mohammed. The PCC now claims that she was sacked for incompetence and being a mole within the organization.

The PCC stated that it received Mohammed’s resignation with amusement, calling it “hasty” and claiming that she was on the verge of getting sacked for incompetence, being contentious and being uncovered as a mole planted in the campaign to leak sensitive information to opponents.

Hajia Mohammed resigned from her position last Saturday, citing that her conscience would not allow her to continue working in the APC PCC.

She also claimed that the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was too sick and possibly suffering from Alzheimer’s disease as she witnessed him unable to hold a teacup when she visited him in London.

Mahmud Jega, Special Adviser on Public Affairs at the Tinubu Media Office, issued a statement on Monday night in Abuja in response to Hajia Mohammed’s resignation.

He stated that although Mohammed had claimed to have resigned, her letter of dismissal from the campaign and the party had just arrived on her desk. He also suggested that she had deceived the public with her resignation claim.

Jega also added that Mohammed’s statements since her dismissal from the campaign, which he described as desperate, fact-free, filled with machinations and imaginary, have proven that she was not fit to serve in the first place and was actually a mole.

He further said that, Naja’atu’s claim that when she asked Asiwaju what plans he had for the North, he answered that he had none. Is strange and calls into question the integrity of the woman and her story.

Jega concluded his statement by urging the party’s supporters to ignore the antics of this political soldier of fortune and focus on delivering the Tinubu/Shettima ticket at the polls in a month.
