Different reactions surged following the debut of the new naira notes that go into circulation today.
Biztellers had reported that the president on Wednesday unveiled new notes for N1,000, N500, and N200 as previously announced by Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, earlier declared that the apex bank is now more motivated to turn Nigeria into a cashless economy, as in other countries.
However, some Nigerians reacted negatively to the new design of the Naira notes after seeing photographs of them circulating on social media.
They seems not happy with the ‘changes’ discovered.
Many Twitter users criticized the Federal Government for just changing the color of the Naira notes and demanded additional changes from the government.
Senator Shehu Sani, a former member of Congress who voiced his viewpoint on Twitter, remarked “If it’s Naira colour,the CBN should have just engage Snapchat”.

@DelawGrafix: Instead of the full color design they only remove magenta from 1000 and leave black, yellow and cyan. Then 500 they remove black and leave little magenta, yellow and cyan. 200 has just magenta all through. They didn’t redesign any currency here oo kai naija my country.
