Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2023 polls in Nigeria, has arrived in the United States of America.

According to available information, the former Vice President flew into the US through Washington D.C for political campaigns.

The former VP arrived in the US alongside the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Governor Aminu Tambuwal; former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha; and High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

He was welcomed by former President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki; former Senator Dino Melaye; and his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Phrank Shuaibu, amongst other aides.

A statement by the Atiku Media Organisation in the early hours of Friday said: “The visit to the US has dismissed all doubts that Atiku cannot travel to the US.

“As part of his programmes and engagements while in the US, the Presidential candidate would be meeting with Nigerians in Diaspora as well as with PDP members in North America.

He is also expected to meet with top Nigerian business leaders based in the US and later meet with young Nigerian professionals in the Diaspora, among other meetings with some business community.”
