The judge, Sulyman Ola, however, gave Orabike an option of N20,000 fine.

Ola also ordered the convict to pay N73,000 in compensation to the complainant or serve three months imprisonment in lieu of the compensation.

The judge warned him to desist from committing crime after serving their punishment.

Orabike had earlier begged the court for leniency.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Chinedu Ogada told the court the complainant, Collins Samuel of Tasha I, one man village Abuja, reported the matter at the Gwagwa Police Station.

Ogada said that sometimes in June the complainant employed Orabike and entrusted him with his Lotto shop to manage.

He told the court that the complainant gave the convict N73,000 for the business and to remit the proceeds to her but he Smartly converted the money to his personal use.

The prosecutor added that during police investigation, the convict made a confessional statement and all efforts made to recover the said money failed.
