Taraba Governor Darius Ishaku has emerged senatorial candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) for Taraba south district without any challenge.
The processes for the election were held at the Wukari Stadium, headquarters of the southern senatorial district.
For the central senatorial district, Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu came out victorious after defeating Mohammed Abana by 143 votes to nothing in Bali, headquarters of the central senatorial district.
At the Jolly Nyame Stadium Jalingo, venue for the northern senatorial district elections, incumbent senator, Shuaibu Lau won with 92 votes against his closest rival, David Kassa who scored 73 votes.
The process was generally peaceful except for an isolated case of a thug who was stabbed with a knife at the premises.
