Hoodlums have vandalised secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State after the visit of former Vice President and presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar.

Atikur’s visit to Ondo PDP delegates extended into the night on Wednesday.

Spokesman for the Ondo PDP, Kennedy Peretei, who confirmed the incident, said the hoodlums thought dollars were kept in the office of the State Chairman, Fatai Adams.

Atiku promised to give Ondo State a special status if elected President.

The former Vice President, spoke in Akure while addressing party delegates, said the PDP would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) with a wide margin in the State.

Debunking rumours about his alleged ill health, Atiku said he had visited five states in the Southwest within two days and was still standing.

The former Vice President reminded Ondo delegates that they have a historic responsibility to elect a candidate that has capacity and national acceptability.

He said any candidate of the party that lacked national acceptability cannot win election for the party.

His words, ” Anybody that does not have national acceptability cannot win the election. You know that I am a household name in this country. You deserve the best in this country. Ondo peoples are determined, loyal and patriotic. I appeal for your support in the forth coming elections.

“I want your support to win this nomination so that we can get to the villa to work for you. The APC steal every election. I will appreciate your support. I will give Ondo a special place in my government. I will unify Nigerians. I will be fair and give a sense of belonging all parts of the country.”

State Chairman of the Ondo PDP, Fatai Adams, said the delegates would ensure the best candidate wins the primary.

“This Presidency will get to your hand.”
