Celebrated Nigerian Blogger, Linda Ikeji has reacted to the judgement of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja asking her to pay general and exemplary damages of N25 million and publish a written apology to a Claimant, Mrs Ajibola Ajayi, daughter of former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Linda Ikeji had reported that the former Oyo State Governor’s daughter had described the protesting LAUTECH students as a “Generation of Mannerless Children.”
In 2018, Mrs Ajibola Ajayi sued Linda Ikeji for defamation for a post she published on her blog in 2017.
On Tuesday, April 12, 2022, the court granted the claimant’s prayers and ordered Linda Ikeji to pay her N25m in damages.

In her response, the blogger in a post on her Twitter handle described the lawyer as an inexperienced 26 years old, asking how could the law firm file a case both in Lagos and Abuja at the same time.
She said: “You are such an Idiot Lawyer. I can Pay 100 Lawyers, you are a church rat…”
She tweeted below;
Linda Ikeji was sued and convicted for defamation, false, and malicious story which brought the claimant into disrepute. The claimant got awarded N25M in damages. Actions have consequences. Watch what you share on social media.
