Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez has blamed the overwhelming presence of away fans inside the Nou Camp, for their Europa League elimination on Thursday.

The Catalans are out of the competition, following a 3-2 defeat to Frankfurt on their own turf.

Barca crashed out on a 4-3 aggregate, as the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw, Xavi has now complained there were too many Frankfurt fans in attendance at Camp Nou, saying the club is looking into it.

“I was expecting 70,000 or 80,000 cules here but it wasn’t like that.

“The club is checking what happened,” Xavi told reporters.

Ronald Araujo added to Movistar+: “I’m surprised there are so many German fans in the stadium. The club will have to look at that.”
