Liverpool are said to be concerned that they will not be able to field a team to face Arsenal in this week’s EFL Cup semi-final first leg.

The Reds are set to take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

However, a report from the Daily Mail has cast doubts over whether the match will take place.

Liverpool were missing boss Jürgen Klopp plus Alisson, Joël Matip and Roberto Firmino as they drew 2-2 with Chelsea on Sunday after all four had tested positive for coronavirus.

The report claims the club are now worried that more cases will leave them unable to field a team.

Trio Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mané, and Naby Keïta have all left the club this week to take part in the African Cup of Nations, while Thiago and Takumi Minamino are struggling with injuries.

Arsenal were without Eddie Nketiah and Mikel Arteta for their New Year’s Day defeat to Manchester City following positive coronavirus tests.
