The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) will tackle their Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) counterpart on Thursday in the finals of the 2021 FCT Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) 5-Aside football competition.
The rampaging NAN football team on Monday dispatched Voice of Nigeria (VON) 1-O in their opening match and edged past Africa Independent Television (AIT) by the same margin at the Siaone pitch of the Moshood Abiola National stadium.
NAN walked over Liberty TV in the last match to secure the maximum nine points to top B and qualify for the finals.
NTA, who are the defending champions beat FRCN 1-0, drew goalless with Nigeria Customs Broadcasting Network (NCBN) before spanking TVC 3-0 to top group A and secure passage into the finals.
NTA will now face the entertaining NAN team in the finals on Thursday in a repeat of the 2019 finals while NCBN take on AIT in the third place match at the Siaone football pitch at the Moshood Abiola National stadium.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that trophies and cash prizes will be won by winners of the annual competition.
Dignitaries set to grace the final of the competition include Paul Edeh, Proprietor, Naija Ratels FC, Mahmud Hadeja, Coordinator, Beach Soccer League and President African Beach Soccer Union.
Others are the Heads of NAN, NTA, VON and officials from the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development among other sports personalities.
