Man City are keen to thrash out a deal for Real Sociedad starlet Alexander Isak.

The Sweden international has been dubbed the ‘new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ due to his eye for the spectacular and is reportedly valued at around £51m.

While that may seem a tempting price tag, City could face stiff competition if they do decide to table a bid, with some of Europe’s elite clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid also monitoring his situation.

John Stones has endured a frustrating start to the campaign having been so influential for both club and country last season.

The centre-back has yet to play a minute for City despite making a number of appearances for England, and the Chronicle now report that he could be heading for Newcastle in January.

The Magpies have been linked with just about every player in Europe since their takeover was confirmed, and Stones has now been added to that long list with the report adding that a loan move could be agreed between City and Newcastle.

Brendan Rodgers has decided to resist interest from Newcastle following the Magpies’ recent takeover as City begin to plan for life without Guardiola, according to the Daily Mail.

City have reportedly shortlisted the Leicester City boss as a possible replacement for the Catalan tactician when his contract expires in 2023.

It’s no surprise to hear that City’s board are conscious of the impact Guardiola’s exit could have on their club and so plans to bring in either a big name or an ‘outstanding coach to soften the blow’ are in the works.

The board are said to be ‘admirers’ of Rodgers and see him as someone who could steady the ship when Guardiola makes his exit.
