Colombian star James Rodriguez was unveiled as a new Al Rayyan player this Thursday. James arrived in Qatar to “be happy” and to compete every three days”
There was no room for James Rodriguez at Rafa Benitez’s Everton and that’s why he had to leave European football. The Colombian midfielder signed with Al Rayyan, and he has already had his official unveiling.
This Thursday, the attacking midfielder tried on his new jersey and answered every question in his first press conference in Qatar. James discussed his reasons to leave behind European football and play in Qatar.
“I just want to be happy. I want to win everything there is to win, play every three days, and give the fans a great show”, he claimed.
James wants to escape criticism and try to feel like an important player again, this time in a lower-tier league.
“I chose this league to keep on playing for Colombia. It is a good thing that I am going to be playing in one of the World Cup’s stadiums”, said James as he expressed his desire of playing for Colombia again.
