Damascus, Sept 19 (Prensa Latina) Syria’s Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources announced the end of the renovation works of the Arab Gas Pipeline, which on Friday was the target of a terrorist explosive attack.
In less than 24 hours, the technical teams were able repair the pipeline and restore gas supply to the power stations in southern Syria, according to a statement by this ministry posted on its Facebook profile.
On the other hand, the Islamic State (Daesh, in Arabic), an international terrorist group, claimed responsibility for the sabotage and said it is part of the economic war.

On Friday, a series of bomb explosions targeted the Arab Gas Pipeline and a high-voltage power line in Harran Al-Awamid, in the southeastern part of Damascus.

This month, Egypt, Jordan and Syria agreed on a plan to take gas and power to Lebanon through the Arab Gas Pipeline and Power Line that go through this nation.

Syria’s gas pipelines have been targets of dozens of attacks since the outbreak of the war in 2011, which Damascus blames on hostile powers that intend to prevent the country from recovering.
