Commission, Ahmed Abdulkadir, and his 15-year-old daughter, Laila, four days after they were abducted in the Bakori area of Katsina State.

Son of the kidnapped director, Nasif, disclosed on Friday that the abductors had contacted the family and demanded N70m ransom to release his father and sister.

“They said they wanted N50m for our father and N20m for Laila,” Nasif said.

He added that the bandits informed the family that Laila was sick.

“They told us that she can’t even walk. We pray and hope they make it out alive,” he said.

The spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, however, said efforts were ongoing towards the rescue of the former Katsina State Television General Manager and his daughter.

They were kidnapped alongside four other persons, who, however, escaped when vigilantes in the town engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gun duel.
