Mali’s interim president, Assimi Goïta, has been attacked by two armed men during prayers, according to reports.

The men, one of them wielding a knife, attacked Mr Goïta in the great mosque during Eid al-Adha celebrations in the country’s capital Bamako.

Mr Goita has since been taken from the scene.
