The Lagos State Safety Commission as part of efforts to promote safe learning environment in schools across the State held an award event for the winners of its maiden edition of the Safety Calendar, 2021. The competition which was held amongst primary schools pupils in the State under the Lagos School Safety Initiative Programme received 451 entries.

The Director-General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr Lanre Mojola said the competition has no doubts created safety awareness amongst the young children. Presenting the prizes to the children, the organizer of the competition, in conjunction with the Commission and the Lead Consultant on Lagos School Safety Initiative commended all 451 participants saying they are all deserved winners. He said the 12 winners are Safety Ambassadors for the Safety Commission and urge them to remain safety conscious.

At the event were many dignitaries including, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Dr Tajudeen Gaji and the Director-General Office of Education Quality Assurance, Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni. The Chairman of Punch Nigeria Limited, Mrs Angela Emuwa was the special guest of honour at the event.
