The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has commissioned Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) projects in the Federal Polytechnic Bida, executed under Dr. Abubakar Dzukogi, the rector.

The monarch, who commended the rector for his good development plan in the institution, said the projects executed under Dzukogi were worthwhile and deserved commendation by well-meaning Nigerians.

“Staff, students and other stakeholders in the institution should support the rector’s lofty projects to lift the institution to greater heights,” he added.

Earlier, the rector had said that his administration would continue to add value to the physical and infrastructural development of the institution to create a conducive learning environment.

Dzukogi said some projects attracted to the polytechnic under his administration were meant to provide a conducive environment for every stakeholder in the institution, pledging to do more before the end of his tenure in 2023.

Some of the projects commissioned include; the Administrative Complex Extension, 500-seat Computer Based Test Centre (CBT), lecture classrooms and staff office complexes, new complex for School of Environmental Studies, asphalt roads within the school, water tanker and ten tricycles for Intra campus transportation.

The rector, who said some of the projects were sponsored by the Federal Government through TETFund, added that the school management was able to complement the efforts of TETFund with the limited resources competing for attention in the school’s coffers.

His words: “Despite the bottlenecks encountered in attracting development into the polytechnic, we, the management, have not relented in our efforts to push for such facilities to come the way of the polytechnic.x

“Let us all at our individual and collective capacities ask not at all times for what the polytechnic would do for us, but let us be concerned also with the value we shall add to the polytechnic.”

President of the Students Union Government (SUG), Adefemi Raji, pledged the students’ continuous support for the Dzukogi-led administration.

“We are impressed with the works so far done by our rector, Dr. Abubakar Dzukogi, and this is why we have always supported him,” he said.

Students and staff at the event commended the rector for his moderate achievements and canvassed support for him to continue with lofty programmes in the polytechnic.
