The Ogun State Parks and Garages Development Board has announced revocation of all recent contracts, agreements or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with or being executed by the Ogun State Parks and Garages Development Agency (PAGADA).
The revocation concerned the contracts, agreements or MOU being executed or signed with any agents, agencies on the collections of revenue on trucks and other heavy duty vehicles operating in parks, garages or tolls in the state.
The decision of the board, which was contained in a statement by its Chairman, Wale Habeeb Ajayi, follows a resolution endorsed by board members, including its local government representatives.
The PAGADEB board also restrained the agency’s General Manager from entering into any agreement, MOU, contracts or negotiations with any ministry, agency , companies or agents without the written consent and approval of the board.
The board observed with consternation the General Manager, who is also the secretary of the board, has not been attending its meetings nor effecting the board resolutions.
It demanded such attitude should henceforth be stopped while advising the General Manager to henceforth learn to live up to his billings in the agency .
The resolution also made it known the board shall immediately embark on visitation to all parks and garages in Ogun State to ensure strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols as directed by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
It has resolved to urgently hold meetings and interactions with the security agencies on the security situation in the parks and garages in the state.
The resolutions, which was copied to the Chairman House of Assembly Committee on Transportation, stated the agency is an autonomous body by the law establishing it and its board shall be guided in its functions , responsibilities and power as provided for in the law.
