Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has signed the supplementary budget of N42 billion for the year ending December 2020 into law.

Mohammed, who assented to the budget yesterday, said it would enable government complete all proposed projects before the end of his four-year tenure.

The governor explained that N36 billion would be spent on capital expenditure, including roads, schools and other relevant development projects, while N6 billion would be spent on recurrent expenditure covering governance, security and other pressing state matters.

According to Mohammed, the state, in the last two years, had increased its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by 300 per cent, from N300 million to N700 million, as well as reduced costs and other leakages, especially arising from the salaries of ghost workers.
